If you prefer to let someone else take the strain, enjoy a lovely cruise along the River Rother from Newenden to Bodiam Castle with The Bodiam Ferry Company, who also offer row boat hire; take one out for the afternoon and along the way, if you’re lucky, you might see herons and kingfishers in their natural habitat.
