The Heart of Kent is home to several award-winning white, red and sparkling wines and Hawkhurst is ideally located to sample them at their source . No less than 9 vineyards are within 20 minutes drive and most welcome visitors and provide guided tours with tastings (although advanced booking is advisable as is a designated driver!)

The vineyard consists of Bacchus, Reichensteiner and Schonberger grapes for white wine production and Rondo and Dornfelder for red wine. David & Linda Carr Taylor established the vineyard, in the beautiful 1066 countryside just north of Hastings, more than 30 years ago and quickly gained international recognition for their award winning English wines.
