Does anyone know if there are any allotment spaces available in or very near Talbot Road?

My husband's WENMAN family lived in Hawkhurst from 1778 until at least 1931. For some of that time they lived at Gun Green. We have just discovered that Gun Green is so called because there was a Gun Foundry there.

Can anyone tell us anything about the Gun Foundry? Does anyone have any links to the WENMAN family?

Good evening. My randfather Mark Chesson lived at Rickwood Farm in Cowden. I was born at Curds Cottages. AS far as I know Grand dad can from the Isle of Sheppy. When I visit Dad, I will ask if there is a Hawkhurst connection

Hi Anthea. It's a late reply, but I also am a descendant of the Hawkhurst / Cranbrook Chessons. If you are on Ancestry, I am ancestryguy99. My tree has over 1000 people, all confirmed with good sources. I even have myself and mum DNA tested and there's another descendant from the Chessons confirmed by DNA matching over there. Would be great to hear from you and maybe collaborate and share information :)
